Cruise Into Eden

I’m so glad to have Lexi visiting me today and talking about her new release Cruise Into Eden. her stories are inspired by classic literature, which is very cool indeed. And I know she is working on a most awesome project now, but my lips are sealed :)

Last April I spent some time with Lexi and her wonderful husband on their very special island, St. Croix USVI, where their house was right on the beach. I was in heaven and LOVED it so much, even if my air bed did have a leak that needed pumping up at 3am every night LOL (They were packing to move) Cruise ships would come into port on occasion and it was something to see.

Thanks for visiting today Lexi! Oh, and if you know how to make that Lime in the Coconut, share please :)

…and I was on this very beach below. Like I said, heaven.

Private beach

Why the Caribbean?

First, I want to thank Cristal for having me on her blog today. Knowing I was coming here, it wasn’t hard to pick a topic to discuss because I know what a beach girl, Cristal is J

In my new release, Cruise into Eden, I chose to set it mostly on a cruise, but not just any cruise, a clothing optional cruise. Part of the reason for this was that this is an erotic romance and I thought it would be great place to make the two heroes comfortable because Ware and Nase are from the planet Eden. In Eden, it is impolite to wear clothes!

Of course, once I made them comfortable I had to figure out where the cruise was going. One of the great things about a nude cruise is that it has to go to warm places. I mean, after all, no one is wearing clothes, so I chose the Caribbean as I lived in the Caribbean and know it well.

This cruise stops in St. Martin (that’s the French side), a private island owned by the cruise line, Jamaica, and finally Key West before heading back to its port. I picked these places because I knew for a fact they all have wonderful beaches. The bonus with the Caribbean ports was they also had places where not having clothes was allowed.

Can you imagine getting a tan with no tan lines on a pristine white beach next to turquoise blue waters in 88-degree heat with a soft ocean breeze and the palm trees swaying? Okay, how about with a bathing suit on, a cabana boy, and a tall drink called Lime in the Coconut? If you can imagine that, then there is a good chance you’ll enjoy Cruise into Eden.

Always, Lexi

Excerpt:

Erin couldn’t help the big smile on her face as she strolled between Nase and Ware down the narrow path to the beach. What woman could blame her? She had two gorgeous hunks and they would soon be sunning on a beach. She’d be the envy of every woman there.

For such a popular place, she was surprised by how small the path was. She’d heard more than a couple of groups disembarking the ship talking about Orient Beach. Then again, it was a nude beach so maybe it had to be tucked away.

The salty smell of the ocean caught her just before the path opened up to a small beach flanked by two coral rock heads. Between them was two hundred feet of pure, white sand and the beautiful turquoise water she had seen from the ship. Now this was a beach, except it was empty.

Ware stepped up to her, his body barely touching hers. “Do you like it?”

She tilted her head up to look at him and caught her breath. His presence was almost overpowering. Her body reacted to him like a candle lit by a match, slowly melting but hot. Staring into his green gaze was mesmerizing.

The slightest twitching at the corner of his mouth had her mind taking over again. “I love it. But where are all the people?”

“It’s just us. Everyone else is probably on Orient Beach, which I imagine is quite crowded by now. We thought you might like to try a more secluded spot.”

She turned her body toward his. “Try it for what?”

“For being nude.”

She stepped back. “Why?”

He cocked his head slightly. “Why not? Did you sleep naked last night?”

She flushed. “Yes.”

Ware closed the space between them, pressing his hard body against her and cupping her cheek. “Then I would ask that you spend your time on this beach with us naked.”

Oh God, when he used that tone of voice she craved to do whatever he wanted. Again she wondered if he was a hypnotist.

She looked around the secluded beach. They were surrounded by hills and the only house she could see was far up on a mountain. “Okay. But you have to put lotion on my back. I don’t want to burn.”

Ware smiled, as in a real smile, and her heart jumped into double time, causing her to catch a breath. A warmth filled her chest as if she belonged. She clasped his hand against her cheek and shuddered at the sensual feelings that coursed through her body like a wave.

He pulled back. “I would be happy to help you.”

Erin shivered at the vision of Ware rubbing lotion onto her back.

Nase ran up to them, already naked. “The water feels like home. Anyone interested in swimming?”

She grinned. “I am. Skinny dipping I’ve done. Though it was at night.” She winked at Ware. “Where should we set our towels?”

Ware took her bag from her. “You go swim. I’ll set up.”

“Okay.” She quickly pulled off her sundress, throwing it over his arm. Taking one more glance around the secluded spot, she untied her rainbow-striped string bikini, and dropped the top into her bag. Before she could lose her nerve, she pulled down her bottoms and they followed her top.

Ware nodded in approval, but Nase grabbed her hand. “Come on, let’s catch some waves.”

He pulled her to the water’s edge, but there were no waves to catch. Without hesitation, he scooped her up and walked into the water until he was chest deep. “I’ve waited so long to hold you.”

Dragon

No, not the kind that breathe fire. Although sometimes I feel like breathing fire with this damn hand of mine after surgery. Carpal tunnel. Regular pain in the butt.
I had surgery on my left hand in December and it seemed to bounce back pretty good. March 31 I had surgery on my right hand. It’s not doing so good. So my Dragon is a headset and microphone.
It’s tricky to get used to but I’m given it a try. I have to keep writing and I can’t use my hands so I have to use my voice. I had techie son buy me Dragon speak software and install it on my laptop. I’ve done the training that it asks you to do and now just a matter of getting used to it. Sometimes I feel silly talking and especially don’t want to talk when people are around.
So far so good, but I don’t know all the commands which I’m sure I’ll learn. I need to figure out how to make it work across platforms like email, social media, etc.
One thing I’ve discovered, it doesn’t recognize some names, so either I have ordinary hero and heroine names or have to go back in and change them all.
And you have to remember to turn the microphone off or it will record conversations going on all around which can be interesting for sure.

So that’s it for me for now and why you won’t see me around social media much for the next little while.
Happy Dragoning!

Sexual Poison

Cristal, how cool to be here. It was great hanging with you and the other Ellora’s Cave writers at RWA. Definitely an eye-opening experience. Since then I’ve had a new release and I’m really excited about it. For those who don’t know, I write erotic romances inspired by the classics and this particular story has a poisonous heroine.

passionspoison_msr

Beatrice Rappaccini is tired of the one-night stands that keep her alive. Tired of the illness she causes when she releases her sexual poisons into her partners. But when she meets Zach Woodman, everything changes. Desperate for what she can’t have, she puts her heart and life on the line, ignoring the anonymous letters warning her to stay away from Zach.

Zach Woodman, logger turned chainsaw artist, has the perfect life, but no one to share it with after the deaths of the women he loved. Fascinated by the sexually experienced yet naïve Bea, he promises himself he will end their hot relationship before fate takes another beautiful woman from the world.

But he discovers Bea has no idea how to have a relationship, and he is perplexed by her strange behavior, hippie mother, six fathers and her request to give him every man’s sex fantasy. It is only when he might lose her that he realizes he must make a decision that will break his heart either way.

Excerpt from PASSION’S POISON

Chapter One

Present day

Zach Woodman was too local to be her lover.

Beatrice Rappaccini reminded herself of that fact as she drank in the sight of the shirtless man using a chainsaw in the forest clearing. The stark muscles in his arms and back danced with the movements of the machine as he angled it through a massive log standing on its end. His jeans stretched against straining thigh muscles braced in a slightly bent position, his construction boots encased in mud.

Bea tried to breathe, but the heat infusing her flesh overwhelmed her. What was happening? She had released her body poisons less than two nights ago down in the city, but this desire making her heart beat as fast as a hummingbird’s wings felt different. This couldn’t be good.

She gulped in air, desperate to control her breathing even as her high-heeled boots sank deep into the mud of the forest floor.

Zach moved to the side of the log and carved out a deep groove. Bea watched his pectorals tense under the layer of dirt covering his chest as he held the machine steady.

Mesmerized, she tried to take a deep breath but her lungs constricted, refusing to allow in the cool forest air. Her head spun as darkness encroached on her peripheral vision. Oh damn. She pulled her feet from the muck and sat down hard on a stump nearby. Dropping her head between her knees, she closed her eyes and focused her attention on inhaling.

As oxygen flowed into her lungs, the clearing grew quiet and unease replaced her near panic. She opened her eyes to find two boots standing in front of her. Silently, she wished she could crawl under the granite rock lying between those feet.

Since that wasn’t an option, she lifted her head. Zach’s sweat-streaked six-pack abs came into view above the edge of his blue jeans. Her stomach clenched. It tightened even more as his muscled chest, complete with wood shavings caught among the short, dark hairs, seized her attention. She took another calming breath, ignoring the growing warmth between her legs, thankful she remained seated.

Her gaze reached his angular face, where she found he had taken off his goggles. His green eyes, filled with curiosity, stared at her. His mouth quirked. “Are you okay?”

She shivered as his baritone voice slid through her like an otter through water, leaving ripples of weakness suffusing her body. She swallowed a groan. Mentally, she reached for the hospitality professional she’d trained to be. “Yes, I just need a moment.” The breathy answer was anything but professional.

His scrutiny didn’t leave her face. “Can I get you something? A bottle of water? A beer?”

She nodded, not trusting her voice.

His grin pulled the corners of his dark lips, moving the stubble of his unshaven face to form black arcs around the sides of his mouth. He turned and strode toward the log cabin she’d come upon at the end of the dirt driveway, his confident swagger demanding her attention.

She wrenched her gaze from his tight ass to give her body a chance to cool. She was here on business and her libido had to behave. Her body’s attraction to this man didn’t make sense. She had released her debilitating sexual toxins in a one-night stand on Saturday and had reached orgasm three times. It was only Monday. She should have a whole week of relief. Somehow, she had to gain control of herself.

By the time Zach returned with water and a beer, she hoped she appeared normal. He silently held out both. She accepted the water bottle while he opened the Bud Light and took a couple gulps. She stared as his Adam’s apple bobbed along the corded muscles of his neck. Desperate to dampen the heat in her body, she raised her drink and sipped.

He gestured toward her with the half-empty beer. “Feeling better?”

She swallowed the cool water and cleared her throat. “Yes, thank you. I’m not sure what happened. I probably should’ve had breakfast this morning.”

He looked at the sky before returning his attention to her. “Breakfast? It has to be about lunchtime.”

She tried a slight smile but feared it came across more as a grimace, so she offered her hand. “I’m Beatrice Rappaccini from the Lakeside Inn in Meriden.”

He grasped her hand in a strong grip, causing fire to shoot through her arm, across her body and straight to the juncture of her thighs. She almost squeaked in surprise.

“I’m Zach Woodman, but I imagine you already figured that out. What can I do for you, Ms. Rappaccini?”

Oh, the possibilities were endless. She looked at the zipper of his jeans and wished it open. He could strip and push his hard cock into her hungry body and make her come until she screamed. She’d never screamed before, but she had a feeling she could with him.

“Ms. Rappaccini?”

She started and pulled her gaze from his crotch. Had she seen a bulge growing there or was it her imagination? What was happening to her? “Please, call me Bea.” Oh that sounded way too husky. She really needed to get a hold of herself.

She stood, wavering a bit in her heels. He grasped her arm and steadied her, getting wood shavings on the sleeve of her green dress, but she didn’t think he noticed. Did he notice anything about her, such as the fact her body reacted to him like wildfire to wind? With the constant smirk on his face, it was hard to know.

She tried to find a semblance of composure as she removed her arm from his grip. “I’m here to commission a carving for one of the Larsens’ inns, specifically, the Lakeside. The Larsens would like something unique.”

He took another swig of beer, but his gaze never left her. “Hmm, something unique, as in abstract, or just different from my other carvings?”

Bea shook her head. “Definitely not abstract. The Larsens prefer rustic to fit in with the environment. I wandered through your shop,” she pointed back toward the log cabin with the sign “Zach’s” burned into it, “but nothing there is quite right.”

He wiped his forehead with the beer bottle as he contemplated, staring at her with his brows drawn together in concentration.

Did he think about the carving or her? She blushed. Since when couldn’t she read a man? Her very survival depended on her ability to find men who were attracted to her. So why was he different? And why was she so affected?

He drained his beer and smirked. “I think this will take some time and I need to wash up. Would you mind staying for lunch while we work on it? You could use some food and I need a break.”

She shrugged. “Sure, I’d be happy to.” She’d be happy to do whatever he wished, take off her clothes, sit on that log, let him—ugh. She had to stop this.

He turned away from her. “Great. This way.”
